Album of the week - Week 2

Updated: Jan 28

Pink Floyd - Wish you were here.

Another oldie but a stone cold classic with an iconic cover shot by hipgnosis. Released in 1975.

A conceptual album written entirely by Roger waters, which is basically a critique of the music industry.

Shine on you crazy diamond and Wish you were here, two of the albums best songs would go on to endure for decades to come. Supposedly written about Syd Barrett, they are a fascinating insight into the mind of Roger Waters and his thoughts and feelings towards his former band mate.

The album received mixed reviews upon its release but went on to feature in many “Greatest albums of all time” lists over the years.

Put it on the turntable turn it up and enjoy!
